Introduction

Pleased to meet you, let me introduce myself. My name is ilan Sasson and I am the grandson of the Awrets. Their artwork, and that of Rafael Uzan represent the best artwork of the artist colony of Zfat in its heyday.
Art cleans the dust off our souls, that is what my grandmother says.
A word that means the world.
A man, a woman, a child, a tree, a flute - LIFE. These art prints express a dream of better world, and their beauty strikes the eye while their optimism warms the heart. Mystical symbols appear in them; an open hand against the evil eye, a fish for fertility, and a dove for peace.
Irene and Azriel Awret are well known artists who lived in Safed, Israel; whose works express a simple message: "We believe in Peace and Brotherhood."
Raphael Uzan's works bring the stories of the bible to life.
The Awret's and Raphael Uzan's works are being seen in museums, galleries and private collections. Their posters were given to the Egyptian delegation by the Israeli government on President Sadat's peace mission to Jerusalem. These art prints of peace and love appeared three times on television as part of the news; they made history besides being of artistic value and are now hanging in the White House.
Love is the answer.
